This past holiday season, Fantastic Jack and I (Arthur Fratelli) had the absolute joy of performing at Boys Town. It’s not every day you get to share your passion for magic and juggling with such an incredible group of kids, teens, and families. From start to finish, it was a day full of smiles, amazement, and holiday cheer.
A Magical Day at Boys Town
Boys Town pulled out all the stops for the kids who stayed on campus during the holidays. They served up a delicious pasta luncheon and brought in some incredible entertainment (if I do say so myself!). When Jack and I got to the Great Hall, we could feel the energy and excitement buzzing in the room—it was the perfect setting for a little magic and fun.
For those who don’t know, my son Jack—aka “Fantastic Jack”—is a 9-year-old magician, juggler, and all-around entertainer. Watching him take the stage with his juggling and magic tricks is a show in itself. The best part? The teenagers in the crowd couldn’t help but be impressed. There’s something so fun about seeing a room full of older kids cheering on a young performer—it’s like watching a bit of that childhood wonder spark back to life.
Sharing the Magic
Performing magic isn’t just about the tricks; it’s about the moments we create together. Whether it was a jaw-dropping card trick, a hilarious gag, or Jack’s juggling routine that had everyone wide-eyed, it was all about bringing people together for a little escape and a lot of fun.
Jack stole the show with his incredible juggling, and I couldn’t have been prouder. Watching him entertain and connect with the audience made me realize how much magic goes beyond the sleight of hand. It’s about sharing joy and making people feel like they’re part of something special.
And let’s talk about these kids—they were incredible. They were curious, engaged, and totally in the moment. Some of them have been through more than many of us can imagine, and to see them laugh, smile, and genuinely enjoy themselves was the highlight of the entire day.
Why We Do What We Do
Jack and I love what we do, but events like this make it all the more meaningful. Being able to share our magic and juggling with the kids at Boys Town felt like more than just a performance—it felt like a chance to give back. We may have been the ones performing, but the kids gave us just as much in return. Their enthusiasm and awe reminded us why we fell in love with this craft in the first place.
Until Next Time
Boys Town will always have a special place in our hearts, and we’re already looking forward to the next time we can bring a little more magic to their campus. Whether it’s performing at events like this or sharing a bit of wonder at our shows, Jack and I are all about spreading laughter, amazement, and a sense of connection through what we do best.
If you’ve got a special event coming up and need a little extra magic (or juggling!), let us know—we’d love to bring the fun to you, too!
Until then, keep believing in the magic around you—it’s everywhere, just waiting to be discovered.
